Ecommerce Alliance AG publishes 2016 group annual report and confirms preliminary results

Munich, 4 May 2017 – Ecommerce Alliance AG (ISIN DE000A12UK08) today published its 2016 group annual report and confirmed its financial results for that year, previously published on a preliminary basis. Ecommerce Alliance Group (ECA) last year posted revenues of €18.386m compared with €50.7m in 2015 as the scope of consolidated subsidiaries was reduced. The deconsolidation of wap-telecom GmbH alone led to one-off effects on revenues of €29.031m.

ECA’s operating profit (EBITDA) in the past financial year declined to €351K from €1.759m in 2015. Strategic investments – most notably into

further development of vital analysis and optimization tools - lowered earnings in the year under review. Consolidated net profit for 2016 was € 213K compared with €1.778m the previous year, which meant ECA matched its forecast of positive earnings despite unusually high charges. Profit due to ECA shareholders was €109K, down from €1.406m in 2015. Earnings per share were € 0.08 in 2016 compared with € 0.72 the previous financial year.

“We have laid the groundwork for hitting our growth targets in 2017,” said Daniel Wild, chief executive officer of Ecommerce Alliance AG. “That includes

the strategic alliance that we sealed with Mountain Partners AG in April 2017. We will see a new, bigger, and even more powerful Ecommerce Alliance group of companies in the future. I am already looking forward to it.”

In 2017, ECA will continue to pursue opportunities to invest in interesting and promising digital companies, with a focus on more mature companies.

ECA’s and Mountain Partners’ business models are an ideal fit. "The digital revolution is significantly changing or disrupting existing markets and creating completely new opportunities for new business models,” said Wild. “Together, ECA and Mountain Partners provide a great foundation for exploiting this.”

The company’s board expects revenues to rise to €20m-24m in 2017 and operating profit to exceed that seen in 2016. ECA’s 2016 annual report is available for download under www.mountain-alliance.de.
